Airport Transportation

Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) is recommended as the main international arrival point. Arlanda is Sweden’s largest airport and it handles a very large number of non-stop/direct international routes. Many airlines serve Stockholm via Arlanda. Arlanda is about 200 km from Örebro, and it is possible to reach Örebro by bus, train and rental car.

 

Bus from Arlanda to Örebro

Vy Bus4You operates direct buses between Örebro and Arlanda Airport (i.e. no transfer) in both directions. The buses stop at the following Arlanda terminals: Terminal 4, and Terminal 2/3. In Örebro, the stop is Örebro Resecentrum (central bus/train station) situated in the city centre. The service frequency is up to 16 - 18 departures per day each direction between Örebro and Arlanda.

The typical travel time is 2 hours 45 minutes for many of the direct services. The schedule varies by day, so please check bus timetables for your specific date. The easiest and often cheapest way is to purchase your ticket in advance on the website (bus4you.com or bus4you.se). At Arlanda Airport, there are ticket vending machines in connection with the bus stop where you catch Bus4You.

 

Train from Arlanda to Örebro

It is possible to go by train from Arlanda to Örebro Resecentrum (central bus/train station) in the city centre. Train journeys typically involve a transfer (often in Stockholm or at a connecting station), with onward connections toward Örebro. Arlanda Express is a dedicated airport train service between Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Stockholm Central (the city’s main train station). From Stockholm central there are multiple options to reach Örebro by train.

Rental Car options

At Stockholm Arlanda Airport, several major car rental companies operate: Europcar, Hertz, Avis, Budget and Sixt. The driving distance is about 185.9 km (115 – 120 miles) from Arlanda to Örebro.

Expected driving time (without long stops) is about 2 h 30 min under good traffic conditions. The fastest route is typically via the E4 south towards Stockholm, take the exit at Stäcket towards Västerås/Örebro, then join the E18/E20, which will take you all the way to Örebro.
